Before I ever started my business when a lived in a small town with very little to do, I journaled a lot and daydreamed about the kind of life I wanted to have some day. It didn’t feel like anything was changing but what I didn’t know at the time ws that I was practicing manifesting and visualization. Skills that would turn out to change the course of my life. In this blog I’m going to share 3 easy steps to manifest anything into your life.
Immersion (This is crucial!)
The first time I experimented with this process it was during college. I did not have the typical college experience everyone seemed to complain about. I never ate ramen, I traveled to fun places, and I started my first business. This all happened because going to college meant so much more to me than just getting a degree. I had an intention to grow in every way I could during those years.
I didn’t do it because someone made me, I did it because I wanted to. I majored in what I wanted to major in even though everyone asked “How on earth are you going to make money with a degree in THAT?” (Hi fellow English Lit babes!) It meant freedom for me. For the first time in my life I was free to make my own decisions and I thrived because I expected to. I never felt broke, even though looking back I didn’t have very much money. This showed me the power of expectation and somehow if we expected the best, we got the best back.
Anyway, while my first semester in was full swing me and some of my friends decided to get out of our small town and go to downtown Los Angeles to study at a cute cafe instead of the usual library. I had been to LA before, after all it was only about an hour from where I lived, but this time was different. In that cafe the way I viewed the world shifted.
The cafe was on Sunset Blvd, and I remember watching the people coming in and out. The kind of clothes they were wearing, the things they talked about, and just the feeling they seem to exude. The whole place had serious money vibes, and I was starstruck. This started the obsession with cute, bougie cafes down town. Any chance I got, I would drive down to LA to study at some cute cafe and sometimes I’d study, but more than likely I would people watch, and imagine what my life might look like if I lived in a big city, and could regularly afford $15 avocado toast.
The truth is, it was never about the cafe’s, it was about getting into the vibe of living a different kind of life. Being in a big city, being around people who lived so much differently than I did elevated me and made me think that living that way was possible. It is what gave me the courage to leave behind everything I knew and move to San Francisco where I became open to the idea of becoming an entrepreneur. It is also no coincident that I now live 30 mins (without traffic) away from that cafe.
So my first step for you to start living your dreams and manifesting your dream life is to get into the vibe of whatever it is you want. If you want a new house, view beautiful model homes like it is your job. If you want to find the love of your life read books about it, watch movies where the endings are happy, and write love letters to your partner you don’t have yet. If you want more money, hang out places where people have a lot of money.
What all of this does is get you into the vibe of having it. It starts to train your brain to think “Hmm, maybe this really is possible”. It also gets you excited, and when you are happy and excited you have less resistance to manifesting what it is you want.
Pretend Like It’s Already Yours
Pretend like it’s already happened! I have done this countless times using visualization. When I am trying to manifest something, for example, and extra $1000, I don’t visualize doing something to make that money, I visualize already spending it, because it’s already done!
Pretending it’s already done means having an expectation that what you are trying to manifest will show up. Even when you don’t know how it will, or looks totally unreasonable, you continue to expect it will show up. In order to get in this state of pretending it’s mine, I do various things that make me feel like “It’s mine, it’s mine, it’s mine!”
If I want extra money, I will go on my favorite websites and shop, putting stuff into the cart as if I could just buy it then (because it’s already done, I have the money, get it?) I do whatever I have to do to feel in my body that what I want is mine already. I get excited, I say thank you, I go “shopping”. This is one of the fastest ways you can manifest something!
Stay The Course
You keep going until it shows up. This is the golden rule! If it looks like it’s not working, understand that it takes a bit for the physical world to catch up but every second you expect it to show up matters and adds up in the end. I don’t know how many times I’ve seen someone give up right before the miracle (I’ve done this too!), so it’s important you stick it out and keep believing!
It can be discouraging when you are focusing, doing the work, and it’s still not showing up but it’s important that giving up isn’t option. It helps to remind yourself of why you want it, and surround yourself with people/things that remind you it’s possible. Follow inspirational content on Instagram, talk to friends who have what you want or done what you’re working towards.t is very important you protect your energy.
If someone has something negative to about whatever it is you’re aiming for, IGNORE THEM! Don’t talk to them about your goals, and don’t let their experience dictate yours. As time goes on and you go from manifestation newbie to seasoned pro, you will build faith around your goals. It will be easier to do this, and it will show up faster. However, most of you reading this will be new so it’s important that you understand that you need to essentially put on blinders to anyone or anything that makes you feel like you can’t have what you want.
I had to really do this with my business as I was manifesting more money and more clients. I LOVE research. I have a background in academia so it feels natural when I want to do something to consider all relevant perspectives, read about it, and compare everything. This is what I was taught is the “smart” thing to do, but when you’re trying manifest anything, it’s not about whats “smart” it’s about what works. Now, I don’t really listen/read/watch anything about being an entrepreneur. I have certain coaches I listen to and invest with but other than that, I am very careful with that I consume. It is important I only consume stuff that makes me feel good.
